It seemed to me that I hit a "coin scatter". When the coin scatter is discovered, a prospecting hole should be dug. But because I could not resist digging more coins on the spot, I decided to leave such a project for later.
I took a smoking break and looked at the patch of flattened grass that Tahhir and I had just created. Its size was 50 yards by 10 yards. It was impressive that we had already recovered so many coins from it. I was glad my method had worked very well.
