Visiting and Exploring the Stonehenge
Finally, we arrived at the site of one of the Wonders of the World - a prehistoric stone calendar Stonehenge. When I saw it, all I could say was "WOW!" The structure was impressing. The heaviest stones weigh about 45 tons! And it is impossible to comprehend what drew people here over 50 centuries or why hundreds of people struggled over 5,000 thousands years to build this monument. What purpose this monument was supposed to serve? It is still a mystery. Being there and feeling a presence of the ancient history was truly amazing experience for me.
