Relic Hunting at the Site of Chernyakhov Culture Settlement Near Yamy
This time I found a good lead in an old historical book. There was a single picture of a hill near which an ancient settlement of Chernyahov Culture was located in the 3rd century.
The hill was on the bank of the river Domantovka, three kilometers from the village of Yamy. Dima and I had to walk that distance along the riverbank, but it was a pleasant hike because of the picturesque surroundings and cool morning air.
One could feel the old history's presence in this area. The vegetable gardens on the slopes were probably ancient.
Each hill that we passed on the way looked very inviting - I had an impulse to stop and metal detect!
