This gallery depicts digital images of Civil War uniform military buttons which I recovered while relic hunting around military camp sites, cellar holes, foundations, farmfields, etc. Even though Upstate NY, where I relic hunt, didn't see any Civil War battles, there were numerous military camps in the vast area and a lot of relics from Civil War period have been recovered by metaldetectorists. Each button represents a group of similar buttons by type.
