This gallery depicts digital images of common finds, both metallic and nonmetallic, which I usually recover around cellar holes, foundations, farmfields, stone quarries, old damps, river crossings, etc. Sometimes, something unusual comes out of the ground and surprises me. Sometimes, I dig up a target that is hard or impossible to identify - "whatsit." That's what I like about this hobby: you never know what is going to come up next! Each item represents a group of similar items by type.
