These digital photos were taken while walking in the city of Irkutsk populated with 600,000 people and situated 66 km west of the Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia. I didn't plan this site-seeing event so many interesting city sites, I'm sure, were left behind. Nevertheless, I'm glad that I captured the images of the beautiful woodcarving and lacy designs that skillfully decorate ridge-roofed houses, window frames and door jambs in the Kirovsky Historical District. I haven't seen so many well preserved and liveable classic wood houses in any Russian city!
